In 2002, Digital Tree began working with Topform Australia to fix the legacy of the previous programmer and similtaneously adding several smart features such as barcode scanning at each factory workstation and a customer tracking system that enabled customers to track their jobs through a real-time secure online portal.
According to Tony Ciantar of Topform Australia, the job tracking system and its subsequent add-ons has taken their manufacturing plant from ordinary to extraordinary.
"No one else in our industry can offer the same levels of customer service that we do," said Ciantar.
"Now when we get an order, we have an automated system that faxes the customer at 5pm the same day confirming the details.
"We don't have customers ringing in asking where their benchtops are, they simply login and check for themselves - it's an amazing turnaround and one that has won us a lot of business," he said.
"Every stage of our production is now more efficient - from the floor to the office to accounts.
"The job tracking system is so integral to our business now and affects virtually everything we do from workflow management to budgeting," said Ciantar.
